Oceanfront picnics and surfing are among the top things to do at Ukumehame Beach Park. A south swell and offshore winds whipping down from the deep valleys of the West Maui mountains often makes this a clean surf break.Large pieces of driftwood line the shoreline giving the narrow beach an abstract look. A larger sandy awaits on the north end. Swimming and snorkeling is accessible when the water is flat.
Parking is available in two lots or on the shoulder of Highway 30, which are near mile marker 12. Across the highway is Ukumehame Firing Range, the only legal public range in Maui.
Port-a-potties and a fresh shower are available here. The park is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
